The Nigerian Joint Task Force for North West Operation, Hadarin Daji, has killed two Boko Haram commanders and rescued 20 abductees from the terrorists in Zamfara State.
As gathered, the two terrorists were killed during separate operations and one was identified as Sainaje from Katsina state in separate operations conducted in the state.
It was learnt that the operation was in continuation of the troops’ continuation dry season clearance operations in its areas of responsibility.
A source, Zaragoga Makama, on Tuesday, disclosed that the troops, yesterday, during its continuous clearance operation at terrorists’ enclaves at Rukudawa, Dumburum, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji local government.
During the operation all the discovered terrorists’ enclaves including that of a notorious terrorist kingpin identified as Sule were destroyed after they fled their camps, succumbing to the troops’ aggressive measures.
At Sainaje’s enclave, the troops rescued 18 kidnap victims comprising four males and 14 females as well as children.
Similarly, the troops of Operation HADARIN rescued two victims who were abducted by the terrorists while on transit along Shinkafi-Isa road in Zamfara state.
As learnt, they were abandoned by their captors during a gun duel with the highly motivated troops whose timely response led to the rescue.
According to the source, all the rescued victims were handed over to the state government to reunite them with their respective families.
The Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI/General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut has commended the efforts of the troops for their continued doggedness and resilience to restore normalcy in the Northwest.
