Lagos Govt. releases identities of five sex offenders

By Monsurudeen Olowoopejo

The Lagos State Government through its Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has published names and pictures of five sex offenders for awareness on their act.

Names of the five offenders were published by the state government after they were convicted and sentenced by courts over their offences.

Their names as well as pictures were made public yesterday by the DSVA through its official social media handle after their identities had been added to the sexual offenders register.

The offenders, all men, were convicted of defilement of minors and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Those added to the state’s sex offenders register were Adam Farouk, Blessing Okon, Adewale Ibitoye, Siakpere Ofure and Nduka Anyawu.

In the statement released, the agency hailed the court judgement, described the five offenders sentence as appropriate.

“Justice has been served. Let us continue to demand justice for survivors. To report domestic or sexual violence, please call 08000333333,” it added.
