Activities along the Isheri-Idimu road were halted for several minutes by youths and residents of Alimosho Local Government on Thursday after a Lagos Police taskforce van allegedly crushed a primary school pupil.
As gathered, the yet-to-be-identified pupil was about cross the road when the van driving against traffic knocked her down around Idimu end of the road.
It was learnt that the policemen, after realizing their actions, immediately took the child away and fled the scene to avoid being lynched by the youths.
This act, eyewitnesses narrated, resulted in the riots with the youths shutting down the road to express their grievances over the sad development.
