Two Boko Haram fighters surrender to Nigerian troops

Atleast two fighters of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād otherwise known as Boko Haram, have surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno state.

The two terrorists, who also handed over their arms to the Army troops in the state, were Awana Kurama and Tahir Isa.

It was gathered that the two insurgents surrendered to troops of 21 armored Brigade Bama on Thursday after fleeing their camp in Bahrain village in Sambisa Forest yesterday

A Counter insurgency expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, who was privy to the act, stated that the terrorists surrendered with one Ak 47 rifle, containing 10 refined rounds of 7.62MM Special Ammunition, two bicycles and N29,000 cash only.

The two surrendered fighters are currently in the military custody and were being profile to get more details on the insurgents operations across the northern states.
