The Chief Executive Officer of Klass Five Hotel, Adesoji Adeleye, was brutally assassinated by unidentified hoodlums in the early hours of Tuesday within the premises of his hotel, located in the Arakale area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Sources revealed that the late Adeleye was asleep in one of the hotel rooms when the assailants struck. The attackers reportedly gained access to the premises undetected, entered his room, and stabbed him to death. After committing the crime, they fled the scene, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.
A resident in the area who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, “The deceased was seen hale and hearty in the midst of his friends on Monday night. It was shocking to wake up to the news that he had been stabbed to death while sleeping.”
The tragic incident was promptly reported to the police. Detectives from the Ondo State Police Command were deployed to the scene to commence investigation.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Alayande, stated that a discreet investigation was already underway.
“We have sent a team of detectives to the place, and we are on the trail of the perpetrators. As soon as we apprehend them, they will be brought to book. The case has been transferred to the State Police Headquarters for thorough investigation,” he said.
The assassination has thrown the community and hospitality industry into mourning, with many calling for swift justice and improved security in the state.
