The Lagos State Government has disclosed that efforts were currently being intensified to ensure that retirees across its public service receive their pension benefits less than a month after leaving the state public service.

The Lagos State Head of service, Olabode Agoro, who disclose this on Thursday during the send forth ceremony for over 200 retired staff in Ikeja, stressed that the move was part of the welfare package the state government planned for the former officials, in order to ensure that they remain healthy often.

“You have mentored countless colleagues, fostered a culture of
collaboration within the Civil Service, and embodied the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.

“Many of you have left indelible marks on specific Ministries, and you have consistently raised the bar and maintained the standard of
excellence that was bequeathed to us by the founding fathers of the Lagos State Civil Service.
