Lagos Govt. targets N5bn sales through NBC trade fair

..over 200 entrepreneurs to participate

Passionate on the need to boost Lagos Gross Domestic Products (GDP) geometrically through tourism, the State Government has partnered Naija Brand Chick (NBC) to organize a 2024 trade fair with a target of N5 billion sales during the period.

It said that the fair scheduled to hold between 14th -16th of June 2024 was part of mission to nurture rich cultural heritage, promote artistic endeavors, and propel the tourism sector forward as a cornerstone of economic development.

At the press briefing on Thursday to unveil the trade fair in Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor, on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, stated that the collaboration tagged:”Lagos Tourism Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair”, marks a significant departure from traditional governance services in the state.

Aregbe noted that the fair has been designed to serve as a pivotal catalyst to boost business for entrepreneurs under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is committed to promote small and medium scale enterprises.

Ahead of the three days event, he stressed that all resources have been put together to ensure that over N5 billion sales were realized at the fair in commitment of the government’s effort at driving economic growth, prosperity and making the state a tourism destination.

The governor’s aide added that through the fair, Lagosians will witness beginning of a new dawn in hospitality and trade fair in the state.

According to him, “This year’s fair will be a convergence of diverse sectors, spanning Lifestyle and Home, Fashion and Personal Care, Services and Innovation, Arts and Craft, Adventure and Recreation, Travel and Hospitality, and Cultural and Recreational Attractions. It’s a testament to our unwavering dedication to inclusivity and diversity.

“With an anticipated influx of participants and visitors, the fair will provide an unparalleled platform for vendors and entrepreneurs to showcase their offerings, connect with a wider audience, and contribute to the vibrant economic landscape of Lagos”.

Also, Chief Executive Officer of NBC’s Trade Fair, Nelly Agbogu, expressed excitement on the collaborative effort which had the support of Actress Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi and stakeholders as it would promote brand visibility for hospitality industry and businesses to thrive in the state.
