The African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) defending champion, Senegal, has been eliminated from the 2024 tournament by the host, Ivory Coast, after the former winner couldn’t convert all its penalties, ending the round 16 shootout game at 5-4.
The game proceeded to the penalty shout-out after both teams were unable to add to their tally, ending 120 minutes of full time at 1-1.
