The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) may not end soon after the party members in Kano State suspended the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, over corruption allegations.
They alleged that Ganduje was involved in corruption act while serving as the Kano State governor between 2015 and 2023.
The members in Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Kano stressed that the suspension as a member was part of measures to distance themselves from the financial misappropriation committed by the national chairman.
Addressing journalists on Monday, the legal adviser of the ward in Ganduje, Haladu Gwanjo, said the former Kano Governor is alleged to have committed gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in Kano.
Gwanjo revealed that members resolved to suspend Ganduje’s membership after a vote of no confidence passed on him due to his inability to clear his name from a wide range of allegations of corruption, particularly the widely circulated video where he allegedly received dollars as a bribe from a contractor.
