The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four siblings over the alleged killing of a 40-year-old security guard during an attack on a farm in Jama’are Local Government Area.
The suspects, Chidawa Ahmadu (25), Adamu Ahmadu (20), Usman Ahmadu (15), and Yusuf Ahmadu (22), are accused of carrying out the fatal assault, which police described as culpable homicide.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026, after hunters reported an attack on three private guards at a farm owned by Idris Waziri Kwamawa.
According to the statement, the Divisional Police Officer led a patrol team to the scene, where one of the guards, Bello Bura, 40, was found dead. Two others—Sani Hussaini, 32, and Gidado Mohammed, 32, both from Jadauvi village in Gamawa Local Government Area, were injured.
Police said six suspects were initially detained, but investigations later narrowed responsibility to the four siblings now in custody.
Items allegedly used in the attack, including three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight, were recovered as exhibits.
“The weapons recovered are critical to the ongoing investigation and will aid prosecution,” the police said.
The command added that the deceased’s body had been released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites, following medical confirmation of death.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
“Community members must promptly report suspicious movements to help prevent such tragic incidents,” he said.
Investigations are ongoing, and the police say further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
