25 die during vigilantes, bandits clash in Katsina

A joint taskforce setup by the Katsina State Government to boost security has allegedly killed no fewer than 25 suspected bandits in North West of Safana axis of the state.

The deadly encounter occurred in Kiratawa village when the terrorists loyal to Abu Radi attempted to invade the village.

During the process, it was learnt that the courageous government backed militia popularly called Askarawa, engaged the terrorists in a fierce encounter which lasted for several hours.

The killing 25 of them while several others escaped with gunshot wounds that were sustained during the encounter.

Some of those killed were top members of most notorious bandit group, Abu Radi, and they weree Salisu Burutai, Kir and Sale while Abu Radi was said to have escaped.

The vigilante also recovered several riffle and motorcycles belonging to the terrorists.
