Determined to stop rising security concerns, the Zamfara State Government has imposed a statewide ban on all political gatherings, including rallies and campaigns.
The recent violence in Maru local government, which resulted in loss of lives and damage to property, necessitated this ban to prevent further unrest in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast, Media, and Public Affairs to the governor, Mustapha Kaura, who revealed this during an interview with newsmen, stressed that the restriction applies to all political parties and takes immediate effect.
He clarified that the restriction is a temporary measure and is not intended to target any political party or individual.
Meanwhile, the government is working to enhance security across the state.
Kaura also warned that security agencies have been instructed to enforce the ban, and anyone caught violating it will face legal action.
