The Ogun State Police Command has explained why TikToker Mirabel has not yet been interrogated over her sexual assault allegation, stating that the victim is currently not in a stable condition to provide a detailed statement.
The clarification comes amid widespread social media claims that the young woman had been arrested following a viral TikTok video in which she alleged she was violently assaulted and raped in her apartment.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said Mirabel voluntarily presented herself at the Ibafo Police Division on February 18 to file a formal report.
According to the police, the alleged assault took place in the Ogijo area, prompting her transfer to the Ogijo Police Division, which has jurisdiction over the case.
“At Ogijo, it was confirmed that she was not in a stable condition to provide further details,” the statement said.
The command added that Mirabel was immediately taken for a comprehensive medical examination, and her wellbeing remains the priority at this stage of the investigation. “At no time was the victim arrested,” the police emphasized.
The Ogun State Police Command stressed that the delay in interrogation is strictly due to medical considerations and not an attempt to dismiss or undermine her allegation.
The command urged the public to disregard unverified claims circulating online and rely only on official updates as the investigation continues.
