WAEC sets January 28 for 2026 private candidates’ CBT exams

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has scheduled January 28, 2026, as the start date for the computer-based examination for private candidates, First Series.

The exam body explained that the timetable is designed to eliminate scheduling conflicts and help candidates plan their revision effectively, reducing anxiety and last-minute disruptions.

In a post on its X handle on Tuesday, WAEC shared the schedule of subjects, dates, and times for the examination, providing private candidates with the information needed to prepare and plan accordingly.

“Here’s the timetable for the CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026–First Series: https://waecinternational.org/timetable/
. We wish you success and a wonderful experience,” the council wrote.

According to WAEC, the arrangement of papers has been carefully planned to ensure a smooth and orderly conduct.

Candidates were also urged to study the timetable closely and confirm their subject entries early, as errors could affect participation during the exam period.

WAEC further warned that strict compliance with examination regulations and technical requirements remains mandatory.

The council stressed that the continued adoption of the computer-based testing format aligns with its broader drive to modernize examinations and improve efficiency across the region.
