The United Arab Emirates airport authorities have cancelled flights following a devastating flooding which has lashed the desert country.
No fewer than 13 scheduled flights were canceled alongside otters being delayed due to the floods which occurred following an overnight massive drenching of the rain which flooded roads at major cities in the nation.
Videos and images show residents lamenting the lighting flashes and loud cracks of thunder which woke them up, leading to restriction of their daily activities.
After the incident which occured on Friday, men and women were seen stranded on streets close to the Sharjah airport riding bicycles through water which reached their knees.
Water pumping machines trucks were seen at Dubai clearing blocked roads and large puddles in the streets, all occurrences leading to the National Centre of Meteorology warning against likely rainfall across the country including Dubai and the capital Abu Dhabi.
