Married At First Sight star Mel Schilling has died at the age of 54, her family announced, bringing an end to the popular dating coach’s public fight against cancer.
The much-loved relationship expert, who served as a key panellist offering advice to couples on both the Australian and UK versions of the programme, passed away peacefully after a courageous two-year fight with the disease.
Her family confirmed on Instagram that she “passed away peacefully” on Tuesday, surrounded by love, following her earlier announcement in March that her colon cancer, first diagnosed in 2023, had become terminal and that doctors said there was “nothing further” they could do.
Schilling’s loved ones paid tribute to her as an incredible mother and soulmate, noting that she had been supported by family and friends in her final days, despite surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
In recent weeks, Schilling had shared updates on her health with followers, revealing that the cancer had spread to her lungs and brain.
