Two die during Police, bandits clashes in Bauchi

The Bauchi Police Command has killed two bandits and recovered arms as well as ammunition during a coordinated operation in the state.

The operation which targeted locations that had become security threats to residents in the Gwana District of Bauchi.

As gathered, the security personnel deployed by the command encountered the bandits during surveillance in the Dajin Madan Forest in Bauchi.

The confrontation resulted in the death of two suspects, while others fled with injuries sustained during the clashes.

After the clash, the law enforcement officers recovered nine rounds of live ammunition alongside an AK-49 rifle abandoned by the gunmen.

The operation was led by the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with Special Hunters from the state.

Police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, on Wednesday highlighted the operation as evidence of the police’s dedication to tackling banditry through strong community partnerships.

He reiterated the force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging the public to actively support security efforts for a safer society.
