US President, Donald Trump, has slammed a journalist, John Lyons, who queried him about the business deals carried out since he became president alongside how wealthier he has been after his return to the White House.
Trump stated that the questions by Lyons, an Australian national, were inconsequential, also stating that such an act brings down the merits of the journalism profession alongside hurting Australians as he nears a meeting with the country’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese.
While responding to Lyons, who works for ABC News, the American president said, ”I don’t know, my family handles my business.
”Most of the deals I have were made before. This is what I have done for a life.”
Lyons, during the incident on Thursday, further asked the Republican leader if it was appropriate for him to conduct the businesses while in office which was met with Trump asking where the reporter hails from.
The American president then said, ”In my opinion, you are hurting Australia very much right now and they want to get along with me.
”I’ll be meeting with the prime minister very soon and I’m going to tell him about you. You have a very bad tone.”
