A tragic lone vehicle accident on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway near Buhari Estate, Age-Mowo, resulted in the death of the driver
The accident which happened as a result of overspeeding left another passenger critically injured.
This was made know by the Unit Commander, Mr. Williams Manga in a statement. He said “On arrival, we found that it was a lone accident involving a Lexus car with no registration number. The driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding, resulting in his death, while the other occupant sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries,”.
The situation was further marred by the response of the deceased’s family members and local youths who, in their grief, blocked the expressway, preventing the FRSC from transporting the body to the hospital.
Manga lamented, “They acted violently and prevented the rescue team from performing its duties, forcing our officers to withdraw to avoid further escalation.”
He called for understanding and cooperation from the public during such emergencies, noting how these actions can compromise safety and rescue operations.
The injured passenger was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
Eventually, the wrecked car was removed from the roadway, restoring traffic flow.
