The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps has confirmed three persons dead after an auto crash occurred at the toll gate end of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in the state.
As gathered, the accident occurred after a Scania truck with a number plate GGE 681 XD and laden with plywood reportedly experienced a brake failure.
The Ota divisional commander of TRACE, Salau Hammed, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Ota, while educating residents on adherence to safety measures on the road.
He said a witness explained that the truck, which was coming from Sango, rammed into a vehicle and into some commuters waiting to board a bus to their destinations.
According to him, four people were involved in the accident, three of whom, two males and one female, died on the spot.
“The corpses of the victims have been deposited at the General Hospital morgue in Ifo,” Hammed said.
The divisional commander warned motorists against speeding and advised them to ensure their vehicles were roadworthy.
He added that the crashed vehicle had been towed away to ease traffic congestion in the area.
