Sanwo-Olu’s deputy CoS death a huge loss to Lagos- Abiru

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Adetokunbo Abiru, has joined hundreds of financial experts and politicians to mourn the death of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Gboyega Soyannwo, describing his demise as shocking.

Abiru added that Soyannwo’s exit is a huge loss to Lagos considering his expertise and contributions to the state’s development since 2019 after his first appointment by the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The lawmaker stated this in a statement released on Thursday by his Media aide, Enitan Olukotun, to mourn the 55-year-old financial expert who died after a brief illness.

According to the statement, “The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has mourned the passing of Mr Gboyega Soyannwo, the deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

“Late Gboyega Soyannwo was my friend, brother and a junior colleague in banking”. He extolled his contributions to the development of Lagos State, particularly the pivotal role he played in the administration of Governor Sanwo-olu. The Senator prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased, adding that Almighty God should give the family, children and loved ones, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.
