The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Gbolahan Oki, and seven other civil servants to the position of Permanent Secretaries in the state.
Others appointed by the governor alongside the LASBCA boss were, Executive Secretary, Health Facility Monitoring & Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), Ministry of Health; Dr. Abiola Idowu, Director, State Counsel, Ministry of Justice; Aderinsola Olanrewaju, and Director Finance and Account, State Treasury Office; Tajudeen Mahmud,
Others were: Director of Administration and Human Resources, Civil service commission, Wasiu, Agbabiaka; Director of Lands, Lands Bureau, Adebayo Olayinka; Director of Administration and Human Resources, Public Service Office, Ajibike Onigbanjo; and Director of Public Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Bajulaiye;.
Sanwo-Olu’s decision to appoint the eight level 17 officers were said to have been based on their performance over the years in their current offices, pushing for the success of his administration agenda, THEMES plus, through policies and programs.
The governor’s decision was made public through a circular released by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, and made obtained by The Guild on Monday.
According to Agoro, the appointment was in line with the need to reinvigorate the State’s policy implementation apparatus towards achieving set goals of serving the public and ensuring a better society for every citizen irrespective of their status.
While wishing the appointees a successful tenure of Office, the Head of Service explained that Idowu, Olanrewaju, Mahmud, Agbabiaka, Olayinka, Onigbanjo would resume to their offices immediately while the two others assume offices later.
“In the same vein, the appointment of Arc. Oki, Gbolahan Owodunni shall take effect from 19th May, 2025, while that of Bajulaiye Adetokunbo will take effect from 30th June 2025. Accordingly, the deployment of the new Permanent Secretaries will be announced in due course”.
