Popular evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, has passed on, ending his 60 years of evangelism especially to Africa.
The renowned evangelist was known by many for being tenacious at disseminating the gospel to mostly non-European countries.
His death was announced on Saturday by his wife, Anni Bonnke, who he met at a gospel music festival, several years ago.
The wife, in a statement posted on his official social media page, disclosed that the late evangelist, who retired few years ago, died in the presence of his family members.
She said: “Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, It is with sorrow that the Bonnke Family would like to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.
“He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 7, 2019. For the past 60 years he has preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus throughout the entire world.
“We want to thank you on behalf of him and our family, for your kind love and unwavering support, which enabled him to preach the matchless message of salvation to countless people”.
Anni, however, appeal for donations to strengthen the evangelism the renown cleric left behind.
“We kindly ask, in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to Christ for all Nations – Africa Crusade”.
