Nasarawa State Police operatives have successfully rescued a 14-year-old student who had been abducted and arrested one suspect directly linked to the kidnapping incident.
The victim was recovered unharmed during the coordinated police action, marking a significant win in the fight against abductions in the region.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
Makama stated that security operatives acted swiftly after receiving information about the incident and tracked the suspect to the riverside in Gitata, where he was arrested.
“The abducted student was rescued unharmed during the operation,” Makama wrote.
The suspect was identified as Jamilu Salisu, a male said to be from Dutsinma in Katsina State.
The student was abducted in Gitata community.
He is a JSS2 student of Ube Gitata. The abduction reportedly took place on Monday, near a mosque in the area.
The rescue took place recently in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, following the student’s abduction, with authorities acting promptly on intelligence and reports to apprehend the perpetrator.
The operation was prompted by the need to swiftly intervene in kidnapping cases, ensuring the safety of vulnerable residents, particularly young students, amid ongoing security challenges.
