The police have recovered ammunition from suspected armed robbers arrested in Imo State.
The Operatives of the police Command, held that the two suspects, Solomon Ekwkwe, 29, and 35-year-old Emeka Charles, were caught with one pistol together with seven rounds of live ammunition used in carrying out robbery activities, causing frightening conditions in the area.
The duo were said to have targeted a man while washing his car in Aladinma, Owerri North Local Government, as which they ambushed him and robbed him of his gold chain at gunpoint, and immediately fled the scene riding on a motorcycle.
Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesman, who held that the incident happened yesterday, said that policemen responded swiftly and nabbed the alleged offenders who are now in custody for prosecution.
Okoye, on Thursday, uttered that the suspects, following the daytime attack, have been taken to the police medical centre for necessary treatment ahead of their expected arraignment in court once all investigative processes are fully completed by the authorities.
