No fewer than 19 suspected traffic robbers have been arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police Command for terrorizing innocent motorists and commuters in the State.
As stated, the suspects were said to have been apprehended while operating in some flashpoints areas that include Agege, Seven-Up, Ojota axis, Surulere to Eko Bridge, axis of the state.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said that the suspects were nabbed on Thursday Friday 10th June 2021 by the RRS team, led by the Commander RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi.
Adejobi said the suspects’ arrests were made possible following the directive by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and the security agency’s commitment to eradicate crime and criminality in the state.
This development comes after President Muhammadu Buhari visited the state Police College in Ikeja and launched newly received security vehicles and gadgets from the state government.
Furthermore, Adejobi said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical Commanders, especially the Commander RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, to make judicious use of the newly donated equipment and decimate the activities of hoodlums at the identified areas across the state.
“CP Hakeem Odumosu also assured the general public of adequate security of lives and property in the state, while he ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Command’s Special Squad for a thorough investigation,” he added.
