The Bauchi police command has killed a member of the kidnapping gang, 60-year-old Abdulkadir Adamu, and arrested another terrorising several communities, and freed two abducted victims inside the kidnappers’ den in the state.
As gathered, the officers’ engagement with the kidnapper occurred after two residents were abductedĀ from Bara Village, Kirfi Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, in a statement on Wednesday,Ā disclosed that intelligence received guided operatives to the criminalsā hideout, where victims were kept after abduction.
While noting that the kidnappers’ resistance triggered a brief gun battle, he said that the operation was carried out in collaboration with community volunteers.

Describing the operation as professionally coordinated, the police spokesperson stated that two rescued victims were taken to a hospital in Bauchi for precautionary medical checks.
Police recovered firearms, ammunition, mobile phones, and other operational tools from the suspected kidnappers terrorising communities.
Following the operation, Commissioner of Police Sani Aliyu ordered a full investigation, directing detectives to dismantle the wider network and ensure the prosecution of all suspects.
