The Kano Police Command has dismissed a constabulary officer, Ado Abba, over repeated cases of extortion of commercial drivers, traders and commuters across the state.
The constabulary officer was dismissed following multiple complaints from members of the public who have been extorted by the former officer.
The Command Spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed this while parading the dismissed officer at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano State.
Haruna explained that the Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has initiated stringent measures to identify and remove corrupt personnel from the force.
The spokesperson, who promised that the police will not condone any act of misconduct within its ranks, further urged residents to report any constabulary officer engaged in extortion or other corrupt practices.
He also assured the public that the command remains committed to upholding professionalism and accountability in its operations.
