The Police have arrested a 45-year-old man, Lawali Haruna, for allegedly conniving with other individuals to kidnap his father in Adamawa State.
Haruna was nabbed with the others: Yahaya Ibrahim, 25, and 28-year-old Da’u Ahmadu for the offence against the victim simply identified as Ahmadu, after which they were held in custody for prosecution.
The police command held that following intelligence-led operations, findings exposed them to have commited the offence, after which the pleaded guilty.
The security agency, on Tuesday, relayed that the admissions provided critical leads for ongoing rescue efforts.
“This is a painful investigation because it involves a breach of trust at the deepest level, but the suspects have volunteered useful information,”the police stated, adding that efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted victim unharmed.
The command also urged the residents to remain vigilant and continue sharing timely information with security agencies as investigations progress.
Police authorities assured the public that updates would be provided as efforts to dismantle the kidnapping ring continue in Adamawa State.
