Pedestrian die, two injure in Abuja auto crash

A tragic road accident near the office of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD) in Asokoro claimed one life and left two others injured on Thursday.

The incident occurred at about 10:45 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla LE reportedly suffered brake failure and struck three pedestrians by the roadside.

Confirming the incident, the Head of FEMD’s Search and Rescue Team, Monday Adie, said the crash occurred when the driver of the Toyota Corolla lost control of the vehicle following the brake failure.

According to the agency, two of the injured victims, Nicholas Daduwo, a staff member of the High Court in the Central Area, and Ernest Nwah, a resident of Akpabio Asaka Street, Asokoro, were rushed to Asokoro General Hospital for treatment.

Adie added that the third victim, who did not survive the accident, was taken to the hospital morgue.
