The Chief Judge at the Ondo State High Court, Bamidele Adeyeye, haa died.
The passing of Adeyeye, who aged 65, was announced by the court registrar, Ayodeji Akinsanya, who termed the deceased as a distinguished jurist who served the judicial arm with dedication and unwavering commitment and fairness in his dispensation of justice.
In a statement issued by Akinsanya disclosed that the legal practitioner’s death which happened yesterday has left a vacuum in the legal profession due to the Adeyeye’s showcased integrity and wisdom and keenness in equity, rule of law.
“Justice Adeyeye departed this earthly realm on Thursday, March 13, 2026,” reads the statement issued on Friday.
“Justice Adeyeye was a beacon of integrity, wisdom and dedication to the cause of justice. His years of service on the bench were marked by an unwavering commitment to fairness, equity and the rule of law,” the statement said.
It added that the late justice was widely respected by colleagues, members of the Bar and the public for his erudition, humility and impartiality in the dispensation of justice, adding that the deceased contributions to the development of the judiciary and the advancement of justice in the state will remain indelible.
The circular further noted that his passing was not only a great loss to the judiciary but also to Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
Several heartfelt condolences have been sent to the family of Adeyeye, praying that they all have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that the soul of our departed brother rests in perfect peace.
Justice Adeyeye was sworn in as a High Court judge in the Ondo State Judiciary on September 8, 2011. He was born on January 16, 1961 and earlier established a law firm, Fola Adeyeye & Co, in Okitipupa area of the state, before his appointment to the bench.
