Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the management board of the state’s Football Agency (OOSFA) over the body’s inability to achieve set goals and objectives.
Aiyedatiwa also dismissed the Executive Chairman of the football body, Dele Ologun, with other board members relieved of the respective duties.
He has also directed the affected executives to hand over all government assets including documents to the authorized accounting officers of their respective ministries.
In a bid to ensure smooth operations and continued oversight of football activities in the state, the Governor has constituted a caretaker committee to manage the affairs of Sunshine Stars Football Club.
The newly appointed caretaker committee will be headed by Tokunbo Akinyelure, who will serve as Team Manager and Welfare Officer.
Other members of the committee include Morris Kwaghzever, assigned to Special Duties; Abdul Wahab, tasked with the duties of Kits Manager; Elias Michael, holding the position of Masseur; and Adetula Olumide, responsible for Physiotherapist duties.
Also appointed were Ayodeji Abe as the Camp Commandant, Ademola Ayodeji for Assistant Kits Manager 1, Oria Sola as the Assistant Kits Manager 2, Imisi Ayodele as the Curator, and Isaac Afolabi for Media Officer.
The caretaker committee is expected to report directly to the Office of the Governor to ensure close supervision and effective coordination.
The governor meanwhile, expressed confidence in the newly appointed team and urged them to bring renewed focus and commitment to repositioning the Sunshine Stars Football Club for better performance.
He emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and professionalism in restoring the club’s glory and making the people of Ondo State proud once again.
