Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dissolved the State Executive Council, over the inability of the commissioners and special advisers to implement the administration policies and programmes across the state through their offices.
Meanwhile, Aiyedatiwa retained Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, and Commissioner for Finance, Omowunmi Isaac, given the importance of their portfolios.
The dismissal of the Secretary to the State Government, and other officials under the governor’s administration came barely one year after Aiyedatiwa assumed office.
He has also directed the affected executives to hand over all government assets including documents to the authorized accounting officers of their respective ministries.
The Executive Council dissolution was disclosed on Wednesday through a statement made available to newsmen by the Permanent Secretary of Cabinet Affairs and Special Duties, Office of the SSG, Mohammed Illiyasu-Idde.
As the officials hasten to hand over their portfolios, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the outgoing cabinet members for their contributions to the state’s development during their tenure, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
According to the statement, “The Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council, with immediate effect”
