Atleast nine persons have been confirmed dead and six others left with varying degrees of injuries during a clash between farmers and herders in Malunje, Zadawa village area in Hardawa district of Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Of the nine casualties, some were officials of the council that were caught in the web of the dispute over a parcel of land that was said to have broken out yesterday.
As gathered, the crisis spilled into Tuesday morning when some aggrieved persons carried out a retaliation attack on the other faction within the community.
It was gathered that some of the injured persons were receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Azare, where they were rushed to after sustaining injuries after the attack.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state command, Ahmad Wakili, who confirmed the incident, hinted that the police has since dispatched a team from the tactical unit to the area and calm has returned.
