One of the Nigerian women evacuated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kafayat Amusan, has been delivered of a baby boy while on board an airline departing for Lagos State.
Amusan was said to have put to bed less than 30 minutes after the plane evacuating Nigerians that were stranded in the Arabian country left the airport.
Following the delivery, the mother and her baby are currently on admission at a Hospital in Dubai for further medical care after delivery.
The Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a statement on Wednesday confirming the development, hinted that the incident resulted in the plane returning back to Dubai after take off .
Dabiri-Erewa said: “Emirates Airline had to change to another aircraft which is now enroute to Lagos with 265 returnees on board.
The Chairman disclosed that the Nigerian Ambassador to UAE, Mohammed Rimi, and staff of the embassy were in touch with mother and child.
Dabiri-Erewa, while congratulating Amusan for another addition in her family and prayed she return safely to the country, disclosed that the mother and her baby will return to Nigeria after obtaining a birth certificate and other necessary travel documents for her baby boy.
