The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Elleman, has presented Ramadan support to about 50 widows and families of deceased police officers, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to personnel welfare.
Elleman, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Aminu Garba, made the presentation during a brief ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna.
The initiative, organised through the Command’s Imam, CSP Yakubu Tahir, took place on Tuesday, with each of the beneficiaries receiving a cash token of N20,000 to support their families during the Ramadan period.
Speaking at the event, the commissioner said the gesture was aimed at identifying with the families of fallen officers and showing love and care in the spirit of the fasting season.
He noted that the welfare of families of deceased personnel remains a priority for the Command, adding that the support provided was only a token aside from other benefits available through the Force, including the Group Life Assurance Scheme, the Inspector-General of Police Welfare Scheme and the Group Personal Accident package.
Elleman encouraged the families to always reach out to the Command for assistance when necessary and to regard the police headquarters as their home, assuring them of continued support.
He also condoled with the beneficiaries and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed officers.
Other senior officers present at the event included DCP Habila Daniel, DCP Yakubu Isah, ACP Davidson Ndubueze, CSP Yakubu Tahir, CSP Dauda Nda-Ali, SP Umar Edota and SP Usman Mohammed, among others.
