The Nasrul-Lahi-il-Fathi Society (NASFAT) Swansea Group in Wales, United Kingdom, has disclosed that bonding among residents of the community and religious groups aids better health and development in their neighbourhood.
NASFAT emphasised that unity and love among members of a community eliminate hatred and aid the people to live healthier than their peers outside the community.
Speaking during the group’s “Eid-Kabir Celebration Get-together” held at Barry Island Beach in Cardiff to mark the 2025 festive season, the Muslim group coordinator, Abdulfatai Omotunde, underscored the health benefits of social bonding and togetherness during festive moments, saying the benefits are enormous.
He called on Nigerians and Muslims in the UK to uphold the values of peace, compassion, and family unity, stressing that the spirit of Eid should inspire ongoing kindness, service to humanity, and a deeper commitment to the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim.
Omotunde noted that gathering together for unity and love among members of a community, families, and neighbors gives more improvement to health as well as increases lifespan.
The coordinator, who underscored the critical importance of health, unity, peace, and service to humanity, described them as essential pillars of hope for individuals and society at large.
While arguing that this tradition must be encouraged often, the NASFAT coordinator urged Nigerians to embrace love and kindness, especially towards the less privileged, not only during the festive period but as a consistent way of life.
“The message of Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the power of sacrifice, compassion, and faith,” Omotunde said, calling on Nigerian citizens in the UK to continually strive for peace, prosperity, and national development.
He further emphasized the need for stronger family bonds and greater unity within the Muslim community, urging brothers and sisters to emulate the exemplary character of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who demonstrated unwavering faith and absolute submission to Allah’s will.
In his closing remarks, he extended heartfelt prayers and good wishes to pilgrims on Hajj, hoping for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling journey.
He prayed that their supplications be accepted by Almighty Allah and conveyed warm Eid greetings to all Muslims at home and abroad, saying, “Barkah De Sallah to all our brothers and sisters around the world.”
