By Felix Kuyinu

A group of mob has killed a young man in Plateau State following the relaxing of a held curfew which caused a melee in the area.

The angry mob attacked motorists and passerby as well as the deceased who was walking near a permanent site after which he was beaten to death, causing grief and massive unrest at the scene.

Several windscreens of vehicles were smashed on Wednesday alongside many persons injured and needing medical intervention at Terminus, Bauchi Road, Farin Gada, Tina Junction, Chobe, and the University of Jos axis.

The violence forced businesses to close, leaving banks and shops shut as residents feared further attacks.

A shop owner at Terminus Market, Rukewe Francis, said, “We are scared to open our shops. We don’t know what might happen.”

Residents in the area have called on the state government and security agencies to deploy enhanced security, especially around campuses, hostels, and major access roads.
