Man steals vehicle from Kano Govt. house

In a daring security breach that has stunned many residents of Kano, an unidentified man reportedly broke into the State Government House and made away with a Toyota Hilux assigned to the Deputy Governor’s office.

The brazen act, carried out in the early hours of the day, has raised serious questions about security lapses within one of the state’s most guarded premises.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the suspect managed to access the compound unnoticed before boldly driving the official vehicle out of the premises without resistance.

The shocking incident has since become a subject of public concern, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief over how a non-staff could penetrate such a heavily protected zone.

As learnt by The Guild, the theft occurred around 5 a.m. yesterday when the intruder gained entrance through Gate 4 and exited through the main gate, taking advantage of the minimal security presence at that hour.

Sources from the government house disclosed that CCTV footage captured the suspect’s movements, showing how he manoeuvred the Hilux out of the complex with confidence.

Furthermore, an official at the Government House, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that, “The stolen vehicle is part of the deputy governor’s convoy. Unfortunately, security personnel are mostly active during office hours or when the deputy governor is present.”

Meanwhile, the driver of the missing vehicle, identified as Shafiu Sharp-Sharp, has been detained and interrogated by security operatives as part of an ongoing investigation.

Moreover, another official revealed that the Chief Security Officer is reviewing the CCTV recordings to trace the suspect’s identity and route of escape.

As of press time, the Kano State Government has not released an official statement regarding the incident.

However, an insider from the government house suggests that tighter security measures are being considered to prevent a repeat of such an embarrassing breach.
