Makinde reshuffles cabinet to boost performance

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reshuffled his cabinet to enhance the administration’s ability to achieve its policy objectives and reposition key ministries for stronger performance in service delivery.

The governor’s decision to carry out a minor reshuffle aims to boost the effectiveness of commissioners by assigning them to ministries where their strengths can be better utilized.

According to a statement released on Monday by Governor Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the changes are aimed at enhancing efficiency and performance within the state government.

As part of the reshuffle, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, was relieved of her duties, while Prof. Musibau Babatunde was appointed as her replacement.

Temilolu Ashamu was moved from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, while Ademola Aderinto, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, was named commissioner-designate.

The newly appointed commissioner-designate, Ademola Aderinto, will be presented to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening before assuming office, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of governance in the state.

Other appointments include Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
