The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has held its annual Christmas Carol and End of the Year Thanksgiving service to celebrate the goodness of God to the agency and other achievements recorded in the year 2021.
During the event, management and staff of the waste management authority as well as friends including representatives of Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) Christian Fellowships, praised God and prayed that the coming year become better than 2022.
The event themed: “Unlimited Praise”, was held at the LAWMA headquarters in Ijora Olopa axis of the state on Tuesday and afforded everyone the opportunity to sing praises of God on Nigeria particularly Lagos State.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director of LAWMA, Ibrahim Odumboni, thanked God for preserving the agency in spite of the hazards they often face in the course of discharging their duties in the year 2021.
Odumboni also gave thanks to the Almighty for making the Authority experience this year’s Christmas Carol and End of the Year Thanksgiving in good health, in spite of the challenges encountered in the year.
A guest artiste, Bukola Bekes, led everyone at the event, in a rapturous praise and worship session, giving glory to God for a successful and eventful year..
The first Bible reading of the day, taken from the book of Isaiah 9: 6 – 7, was done by the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Odumboni; while the second Bible reading, taken from Luke 1:26-31, was done by Tawa Oyekanmi, Assistant General Manager¸ Performance Management.
While leading the special prayers during the event, the Head of LAWMA’s Information, Communication and Technology Unit, Tosin Olaniyan, prayed for Nigeria¸ Lagos State and LAWMA to continuously achieve set goals.
The high point of the event was the rendition of hymns and special songs by the Emmanuel Chapel Choir, and choreographic presentation by the chapel’s children.
