Lagos monarch commends Council boss for infrastructural development

The Olu of Ipaja, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kolawole Ajani Egundupe, has described the commissioning of the newly constructed Revelation Street/Cosmos asphalt road and culverts in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA as an “unprecedented move,” applauding Executive Chairman Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni for achieving in weeks what many thought would take a decade.

Speaking at the official commissioning ceremony, the royal father admitted that he never believed the road would be constructed in the next 10 years. “I was shocked to see it started and completed in just six weeks. This is nothing short of a miracle,” Oba Egundupe said, praising the chairman’s courage, determination, and focus in piloting the affairs of the LCDA.

He further commended the chairman for bringing peace and harmony to the council and urged residents to continue supporting and praying for his administration.

The newly commissioned project, a 546-meter asphalt road with four culverts, located at Revelation Street, Cosmos Bus Stop, was initiated and completed within a remarkable six-week timeframe. The infrastructure is aimed at improving mobility, enhancing drainage, and boosting commercial activity in the area.

In his remarks, Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni stated that the project represents more than physical development. “This is not just about concrete and asphalt; it’s about building a more connected, accessible, and inclusive community,” he said. He appreciated residents for their patience during the project and thanked the engineering team, contractors, and project supervisors for their dedication.

“We are not just constructing roads; we are building futures,” Oluwaloni added, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots transformation under the Ajumose agenda of shared responsibility and transparency.

The chairman also made a passionate appeal to landlords in the area not to exploit the development by increasing house rents arbitrarily. “We know this project will add value to the area, but let’s be considerate. Don’t say because we’ve done your road, you’ll now inflate rents. It shouldn’t be so,” he cautioned.

Also speaking at the event, former Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Shakiru Yusuf, described Oluwaloni as a “miracle worker and magician,” applauding his strides in infrastructure and healthcare delivery. He specifically mentioned the recent upgrade at the Ishefun Public Health Centre as a testament to the administration’s focus on people-oriented projects. He urged residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) for sustained development.

The event was well attended by traditional leaders, political stakeholders, and enthusiastic residents, all echoing a common sentiment: Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA is on a new path of transformation and visible progress.
