The Lagos State Government has disclosed that it has included arts, entertainments and games as part of treatment process for coronavirus patients in the state.
It explained that the inclusion of the tripartite treatment process for the patients of the deadly respiratory disease was to aid quick recovery rate and provide a fun-filled atmosphere for the patients in various isolation centres in the state.
The state’s Commmisioner for Health, Dr. Akin Abayomi, said the Art4LifeLagos was an initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Health which focused on using art to change the face of health and healing process across the state.
The Commissioner, in an update on coronavirus through his social media page on Thursday, said the process was part of the Ministry’s committment in delivering care to patients in line with the second pillar of the THEMES agenda of the state’s Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu.
According to him, the tripartite process was to ensure patients are entertained and are in right frame of mind which will greatly aid their response to treatment.
“Art4Life deploys art and entertainment within the hospital environment to aid body and soul of patients attune to the healing process. Patients are engaged through artistic performances, wall murals as well as provision of games such as; Ludo, Scrabble, Ayo, Monopoly e.t.c.” Abayomi wrote.
