By Monsurudeen Olowoopejo

The Lagos State Government has shifted the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 students to October 6th over late registration from the school principals in the state.

It said that the postponement was due to the government’s determination not to deny anyone the opportunity of taking the examination and gaining admission into the senior secondary schools across Lagos.

The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Orunsolu Adebayo, announced the shift in date for the resit exercise on Wednesday through a statement he signed and made available to newsmen.

Adebayo  noted that the examination earlier scheduled for Sept. 28, had been postponed to the new date to allow completion of the registration exercise.

The director stressed that the resit would still take place in various designated centers earlier announced across the state.

According to the statement, the Board does not wish to deny the affected candidates the opportunity of taking the examination,”.

It urged concerned principals to take note of the new date and make the best use of the extended date to ensure that all affected candidates were duly carried along.
