The Lagos State Government has reopened the Ndubisi Kanu Park to enhance safety aesthetics and overall user experience for residents in the state.
The government, through it’s Parks and Gardens Agency, LASPARK, opened the facility and other public parks following a successful completion of routine maintenance and upgrade works to bolster activities at the park following a three-week temporary closure.
The executive arm held that after experiencing increased patronage during the festive season, there became a need to conduct the rehabilitation for effective development that necessitated landscaping, facility repairs and general upgrades to restore the parks to optimal condition.
In a statement issued on its social media platforms, LASPARK disclosed that the maintenance exercise was carried out to preserve the safety, cleanliness and overall ambience of the parks, ensuring they continue to function as serene and well-maintained green spaces for relaxation, recreation and wellness.
While welcoming Lagosians back to the newly refurbished parks, the agency urged the public to take collective responsibility and ensure proper use and maintenance of the facilities by handling amenities with care, avoiding littering and safeguarding public assets.
It stressed that the preservation of public parks is a shared obligation, noting that these green spaces play a critical role in environmental sustainability, community wellbeing and the overall quality of life in the state.
LASPARK reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining clean, accessible and vibrant parks that encourage healthy lifestyles and enhance urban living for residents across Lagos State.
