The Lagos State Government has disclosed that plans had been concluded to hold its first entertainment show for residents across the state as part of its measures to provide a deviation from challenges posed by the outbreak of coronavirus in the country through entertainment.

It explained that the show, which will hold virtually, was part of creative innovations being considered by the government to cushion the effect of the pandemic through entertainment, a channel it said speaks to the soul of Lagosians.

The state’s Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat AkinbiIe-Yusuf said the virtual entertainment show tagged ‘Digital Lagos Party’ was being put together by the ministry to thrill residents amid the new realities imposed by the viral infections which necessitated ban on social and religious gatherings.

AkinbiIe-Yusuf, through a statement released to newsmen on Monday, revealed that the virtual event will hold on Friday, 10th July 2020, between 7 pm and 11 pm, and that there is a provision of free data subscription for participants.

She added that the digital party is designed to be interactive and fun-filled and that participants would also be engaged in brief questions and answers session about Lagos under an atmosphere of fun and relaxation.

“The ‘Digital Lagos Party’ has been designed to thrill Lagosians with quality musical vibes from popular Nigeria Deejay, Jimmy Jatt alongside Deejay CONEL, stressing that free data would also be provided for participants to live-stream the event on Lagos State Government Facebook Page,” the statement read.

While urging Lagosians and none Lagosians alike to join the live stream of the evening party, the Commissioner noted that the free data subscription would only be made available during the event for those that join the party.

AkinbiIe-Yusuf implored interested participants to follow the social media handles of the Ministry on Facebook and Instagram @lagostourism, Twitter @lagostourismO, and subscribe to the Ministry’s YouTube Channel on Lagos Tourism, adding that these are some of the conditions for winning the free data package for the event.
