Lagos court remands young man over 18-month old baby’s defilement

A Sexual Offences and Domestic Court sitting in Ikeja has remanded a young man, Peter Oshomah, for allegedly defiling an 18-month-old baby in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The court remanded Oshomah after pleading not guilty following his arraignment by the Lagos police command after preliminary investigations linked him.

Oshomah was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos by Justice Rahman Oshodi on Tuesday after a count charge of defilement was alleged against him.

Before Oshodi adjourned the case to July 1, the state’s prosecutor, Inumidun Solarin, claimed that the accused committed the offence on February 5, 2024 at No.8 DB Street, Shagari Estate in IPAJA.

Solarin stated that the alleged offence perpetrated by the young man contravened Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws, 2015.
