The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared itself battle-ready for the 2027 political cycle following the successful conduct of its party congresses across the state.
The party said the orderly congresses, which were held across wards and local government areas in Lagos, reflected its long-standing reputation for strong organization, internal discipline and democratic culture.
According to the Lagos APC, the process marked the culmination of months of internal reforms, including a widely praised electronic membership registration exercise that modernized the party’s membership database and strengthened its grassroots structure.
The spokesman of the party in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, who stated this on Friday, said the seamless conduct of the congresses demonstrated that the party remained the “undisputed standard-bearer of political organization and democratic discipline” in Nigeria.
He noted that participation across the state was massive, while the process itself was peaceful, transparent and conducted strictly in line with constitutional provisions guiding the party.
Oladejo said the successful exercise further consolidated the party’s internal cohesion and positioned it strongly for future electoral contests.
“The APC has shown once again that structure, innovation and order are not mere slogans but part of our political culture,” he added.
He contrasted the party’s internal organization with what he described as persistent crises within opposition parties, stressing that while others were “trading in confusion and press statements,” the APC was focused on building institutions and strengthening its structures.
Observers within the party also pointed to the composition of the newly elected state executive as a reflection of deliberate efforts to balance experience with fresh perspectives.
According to the spokesman, the new leadership team represents a strategic blend of seasoned political figures and younger members, alongside deliberate gender inclusion.
“This leadership reflects institutional memory and fresh energy working together. It is designed not only to sustain progress but to accelerate it,” he said.
Oladejo added that the congresses reaffirmed the trust Lagos residents have continued to place in the APC as a platform capable of delivering stability, development and effective governance.
He argued that the party’s dominance in Lagos State over the years has been built on discipline, organization and unity of purpose — values he said remain central to the progressive movement.
The Lagos APC spokesman further dismissed criticisms from opposition parties, urging them instead to focus on strengthening their own internal systems.
“Politics is not noise-making or perpetual internal crisis. It is about structure, coordination and leadership,” he said.
With the conclusion of the congresses and the emergence of a new state executive, the party said it would now focus on consolidating its grassroots networks and preparing for the political contests ahead.
“The APC in Lagos stands disciplined, cohesive and ready. And when the time comes, the verdict of the people will once again be emphatic.”
