The former chairman of Dala Local Government Area in Kano State, Mahmoud Sani has during an auto crash along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
The deceased, who was a two-time chairman, was pronounced dead by medical experts at a hospital where he was rushed to after the accident.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the current Chairman of Dala Local Government Council, Surajo Ibrahim.
According to Ibrahim, funeral prayers for the deceased are scheduled to take place at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at his family residence located in the Yelwa quarters of Kano.
Mahmoud Sani served as the chairman of Dala LGA between 2004 and 2011 during the administration of former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.
He was widely respected for his dedication to grassroots development and community engagement during his time in office.
His sudden death has sent shockwaves across political circles in Kano, with many expressing sorrow over the loss of a seasoned and loyal public servant.
Friends, political allies, and residents of Dala are expected to gather for the final rites to honour his memory.
