Kaduna ADC sacks deputy chairman, eight others over gross misconduct

By Awoniyi Ademide

The Kaduna chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelling its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Mustapha, and eight other key members over alleged gross misconduct.

Those expelled alongside the deputy chairman include the State Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa; Vice Chairman Zone 1, Sulaiman Abdullahi; Treasurer, Gambo Sani; Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; and Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa.

Others are the Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities, Saura Muhammed; Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and a party stalwart, Mansur Gaga.

The affected members were alleged to have committed offences ranging from insubordination to document falsification and holding secret meetings designed to undermine the authority of the state executive while also being accused of extortion and other acts deemed detrimental to the image of the ADC.

The decision was ratified during a State Executive Committee meeting held in Kaduna, where the disciplinary committee’s recommendations were adopted.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, ADC State Chairman, Patrick Ambut, said the leadership would not tolerate any conduct that violates the party’s constitution or disrupts its internal harmony.

“As law-abiding members of the ADC, we are bound by our constitution and guided by principles of integrity, unity, and transparency. No one, regardless of position, is above the rules that bind us as a party,” Ambut stated.

He further accused the expelled deputy chairman of abusing his office by acting outside his constitutional powers.

“The Deputy Chairman acted without due process and attempted to usurp the functions of the State Executive Committee. His actions were unconstitutional and unacceptable,” Ambut stressed.

The Kaduna ADC chairman reaffirmed that the party remains focused on strengthening its grassroots structure ahead of future political engagements, adding that discipline and loyalty would continue to define its operations.
